The Survival of Art (Linda Weintraub’s Slides)
178.5″x 44″ Pigmented Inkjet Print, 178.5″x 24″ Scroll
The Survival of Art is a re-contextualized collection of slides and histories sourced from noted art critic and curator Linda Weintraub. The slide collection featured in this work comprises Weintraub’s entire slide collection, thousands of images amassed over the course of her career.
Using a similar methodology as I did in the Survival of Photography, I researched and documented the life/artwork of every artist in this collection. Carefully mapped out are the intricate overlapping narratives of the life and death of artist and artwork.
